A Celebration of Life and Presence
I did things a bit different this morning by getting up a bit earlier, before sunrise, and walking down to the beach with my wife. The idea was to be together on the beach to welcome the sun on this first day of spring. I meditated while she worked through various yoga moves, both of us facing the east and the Caribbean Sea. A low bank of clouds obscured the sun’s cresting of the horizon but the rays managed to highlight those clouds. Finally, the sun rose high enough to send shafts of sunlight to the sea while birds flew between the sun and the sea. With meditation was done, and a few needed stretches were completed, we walked home hand-in-hand back to our little hideaway for coffee in the garden where we could watch a pair of doves in the tree and romping lizards while we shared thoughts for the day to come and of days passed. All of this served as a lesson to me, a lesson of being present in the moment, a lesson of calm peacefulness and serenity – a perfect way to enter spring in 2014.
